Probably posed in 1872 in London, GMD was about 48, perhaps just before his North American Tour. A generally sound photograph, the print does have some slight abrasions and handling issues. However, in full disclosure, there are also what appear to be numerous very small white spots on the surface of the photo itself. Their appearance is noticeable but doesn't take away from the beauty of the portrait. Excessively rare to find in any condition, there are none others advertised as of this posting! A GMD  ephemeral delight!
