Guild Court
MacDonald published Guild Court in 1868, at the age of 44. It was a time of amazing literary productivity: that same year also saw the publication of Robert Falconer and The Seaboard Parish; and in the previous year he'd released a major work of theology—the first volume of Unspoken Sermons; a lengthy novel, Annals of a Quiet Neighborhood, a book of poetry,The Disciple and other Poems; and a book of short stories, Dealings with The Fairies.
