Donald Algeo: Beginning to See
I was led to read Phantastes by C.S. Lewis, and honestly couldn't see what the fuss was about. A weird, inept, and unengaging allegory, was my opinion.
I was some years later - let's say more than twenty but less than fifty - led to George MacDonald's Unspoken Sermons by some wayfaring stranger, and began to see what the fuss was about.
My life remains about what it was, although improved. I'll probably take another look at Phantastes.
