When I was young, my aunt and uncle gave me an abridged version of The Wise Woman story. It was called The Lost Princess. The illustrations were fantastic and really drew me into the story. When I got older, they gave me The Laird's Inheritance. I began to check out MacDonald's books at the library and was hooked. I have been collecting as many of his books as possible. I still don't have all of them, but I'd like to eventually have one of each so that my son will have them to read. I suspect they will eventually go out of print. One of my favorite books is At The Back of the North Wind illustrated by Jessie Wilcox Smith.
